My kick-ass TV
Here it is: My supremely kick-ass 142 cm widescreen rear-projection
TV with surround kit and DVD player. Well - ok. It's not actually mine.
It belongs to my stepfather, but at least I still get to use it, right?
It has a sweet picture, and awesome sound. Gone are the days of squinting
from the other side of the loungeroom! Where it really shines is when
playing an awesome game that utilises a 16:9 widescreen ratio, and these
days - there are plenty of them. I just played and finished Killzone in
142 cm glory, for example. The remote control looks like some sort of
nuclear-device with a hundred fricking buttons on it. It's no problem
for me, but in order to switch between watching TV, watching Cable, watching
DVD's, burning DVD's and listening to music - You need to navigate about
5 remotes.. heh. My mum isn't fully up to speed yet, but she'll catch
on.

The surround kit isn't too bad either. The DVD player that
it came with also acts as the amplifier to the sound kit - so hooking
up the cable box, the DVD burner, and the various game systems proved
to be an athletic feat of wire-engineering behind the whole setup. Of
course - I was called on as the resident family expert to fix it all up
- as no-one else in my family really has a clue how to deal with this
kind of thing. Ah.. The joys of living at home with the parents.
