April 2003Wednesday 16 April 2003 12:24 amNo luck with finding a house so far. It seems that the rental options are fairly slim at the moment. Damn. No doubt I will find something suitable soon, (at least I hope so) and I can readjust and get my life back on track again. Well, it could be worse.. I could be one of those poor dudes with only one arm, or something. It would certainly suck being like that.On a different subject, I know that the game has been out for absolutely ages, and we would seem a little late, but my brother and I are just getting into the game 'Silent Hill 2' and I can tell you - that game is some freaky shit. Hoping not to ruin it for anyone, There is this bit in the game where you just keep heading down and down and down. You jump in a hole, climb down a ladder, head down some stairs, jump down another couple of holes, descend at least 10 storeys in an open elevator, climb down several more ladders, jump down a couple more holes, jump into a deep well, jump into a grave that leads down to further descending stairs, and what do you know. You are back on the surface. I swear you descend hundreds of meters, but still manage to stay on the surface. That's just fucking weird. Anyways, goodnight. With that angle covered, all I have to do is put it in to the right employer! :) Tomorrow, I'm going to attempt to tackle the house finding business. Because I'm a slacker, and I don't have my own car yet, my mum is going to drive me around so we can check a few places out. Learned something cool. The Chinese word for 'crisis' is made of two characters - 'danger' and 'opportunity'. Sure we are constantly aware of the danger factor, but how often do we take the advantage, and find the opportunity? I think that this implies that in a crisis, there is opportunity. I can tell you right now, that 'crisis' is definitely the right word to describe my circumstance - therefore the opportunities should be near - right? Don't worry, I'm looking. Let's hope I find a couple soon. Colin out.Friday 11 April 2003 4:33 pmHey all.. Just added the Kung Fu section finally, and I'm fairly pleased with it. I tried to create a balance between style, substance, and simplicity. The write-ups are designed to be easy to understand , and I THINK I pretty much achieved that, but not at the cost of distortion. Still haven't found a job (shit) and my house situation is all up in the air.. Gotta work harder. Oh yeah.. I finally found that Lord of the rings board game on eBay, and it's in the post as we speak. Woohoo! Colin out.Wednesday 9 April 2003 3:56 pmI just discovered a cool new haunt. I've been chatting in the jetli.com IRC channel on mIRC. You can just use the Java applet on Jet's website: www.jetli.com but for you gurus out there, the server is called IRC.insiderZ.de and the channel is #jetli.com it's on port 6667- check it out sometime. There are some great folk in there. A big hello to YoMama, Aim, Kityun, Smiley, Roxanne, DragonMa, Rachel, musu, Kellz, and kikkoman. (Hope I didn't miss anyone) Colin out.Monday 7 April 2003 10:01 pmI've been playing Warcraft 3 on Battle.net and it's mostly been great fun. There are alot of cool guys that play it - and also alot of losers. One type of these losers is the farm hider. The farm hider is a most lethal type of enemy. He marches all around the map hiding farms in all sorts of places. This is paticularly frustrating because you technically haven't defeated an opponent until you have razed all their buildings. After you THINK you have taken out their base, and therefore won - your opponent will say something like: 'Oh, it's not over yet' or: 'I can wait ALL night' and you are forced to either search out each and every single farm, which takes bloody ages or quit the game, and therefore lose. I hate farm hiders. Colin out.Thursday 3 April 2003 11:57 pmSo the job search continues. I heard back from one of the places that I applied, and no luck. I guess you can't have everything you want, at any rate the job wasn't really what I am after, so I'm not exactly heartbroken. I do hope that I hook up with something soon, and there is one particular job that I have applied for that I DO hope I get. My experience is relevant, and I can certainly see myself performing well, so I'm fairly hopeful. On another subject, I've just been playing a fairly cool game, 'Warcraft 3'. It's funny, actually - I have never really liked RTS games, but this one seems a little different. It's more character and story based than the other two, and I get into the whole story thing. I still can't find the lord of the rings board game anywhere, so I'm still looking. That's about all I have to say at the moment. I'd say that it owes a fair bit to the fact that my remarks about women are highly sexist and also demoralising. I can't really disagree with that. I haven't really said anything nice about them. To all you women out there: If you are really offended by the 'How do I score women' page then I'm sorry. You should probably also know that I actually haven't been laid in a very long time. I'm not going to even tell you how long because of the sheer embarrasment factor involved. You probably are thinking - no wonder, with that kind of attitude towards women - but you'd be wrong. The truth of the matter is: I don't even drink. I just thought it would be funny. The fact that you take the page seriously says alot about your discernment, doesn't it. Maybe it gives you a justifiable reason to dislike me, and that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. At any rate, I still don't like women much. All they have shown me is judgement and deceit. I'm not wasting my hate on you. I keep all that for myself. Colin out. |
