My MVS

What is an MVS? MVS stands for Multi-Video-System, and to be specific, it is the hardware that sits inside a NEO-GEO arcade machine. It is the business, it is the real deal. Yes, my pedigree chums, I own one! Now, to be specific, the best thing about my paticular MVS is owing to the control layout. It's not the traditional SNK style, but a slightly modified, and much more user-friendly system. Observe:

Here is a current list of my games as of 30/09/2003:
I'm working on the meagre size of it, don't worry.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves

Fuck this game rules! Garou is rather similar to Capcom's classic: Street Fighter Alpha. I wish they would release a sequel - honestly one of the best fighting games I have ever played.

CAPTION: Rock Bogard is getting owned by Kim Jae Hoon's hellish jumping axe kick.

The King of Fighters '97

An oldie, but a goodie. All the games in 'The King of Fighters' series running right through from '94 to 2002 - yep; 9 games - epitomise the very essence of a 2D fighting game. Stylish characters, extensive flashy special moves, intricate combo sequences (all at a blistering pace) are all included.

CAPTION: Yuri Sazaki is eating up Kyo Kusanagi's fiery doom.

Samurai Shodown 4: Amakusa's revenge

What a great game! This game, with a deceptively simple control system, is a real test for gamer vs gamer. Emphasis is placed on landing a powerful hit at the right moment, and although plenty of combo opportunities are available, you score the real damage by simply striking at the right moment with a big heavy slash.

CAPTION: Charlotte is copping a face full of steel, and paying dearly for it.

The Last Blade

With the addition of a 'deflect' button, and mega mega combos to boot, this game took sword fighting to the next level. Combo addicts, look no further. This game is all about how much control you have over your fighter, and your level of mastery over the extensive combo system.

CAPTION: Amano is swallowing the tasty end of a wakizashi.

Magical Drop 2

Never has there been a more addictive puzzle game than this, unless, of course - you count the sequel. The idea is to burst bubbles, by lining up colours, esentially. The trick is, to line them up at such a speed that you get combos, and rain some doom down on your opponent, thwarting their own arrangement.

CAPTION: The 'Fool' is foiling the plans of the 'Devil' with a sweet little 4 hit combo

Metal Slug

The game that started the revolution. Everyone loves Metal Slug, and if they don't, they should. People who put shit on this game either have no taste, or they are just plain idiots. Assholes or fools. Pick one.

CAPTION: Haha.. nothing too much happening here folks..
